HELLO STRINGERS! We will not be having a combined HCISO-SNSO outing as planned because.. there will be simply too many people and Singapore doesn't have the resources for such things :)

So well, your sections will be having outings by themselves.

AND VIOLIN1 AND 2s ARE THE FIRST PEOPLE TO SETTLE EVERYTHING! :D So violin 1s and 2s, it will be... :

4th December 2006
Monday
10 AM at Marina Bay MRT
Bowling!
(I CANNOT BOWL FOR NUTS)

So there, au revoir!

P.S THERE IS PRACTICE TMRW 3-6PM.

Yours truly,
Janaaaaa
Here's some videos of our performance! Cherry's sister took them :)

HELLO STRINGERS, HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE 3 DAYS OF INTERACTION PLUS THE CONCERT. Please be reminded that there is STILL PRACTISE this coming Monday and Friday (27th November and 1st Dec respectively) same time, same place. Do not be late if not you'll have to contribute to the Pink Pig economy (well, now that our beloved piggy bank cracked at hci, I don't know what we'll store the fines in, hahaha)

By the way, there will be a SNSO-HCISO bowling outing soon. So, watch out for it! In the meantime, PLEASE CONTINUE PRACTISING YOUR SYF PIECES :) Those who took photos during the camp please send them to anyone from the Comm (HCISO people if you are reading this, please send them to Bjorn or something so he can send it to us)

BTW! Hahahaha the noisiest bunch of audience was our seniors from the grey and light blue badges respectively. The bunch that was screaming ENCORE! and GO MR CHANNNNSSSS.

Anyway, here's a joke that the HCISO people made up about the very oh-so-adorable guy emcee:

Once upon a time,
There was a boy named Zheng Yi.
He was the emcee for our concert.
Thank you and goodnight.

Have a greaaaatttt December holiday!

P.S All the other String Orchestras are NOT stopping for December, so COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!

P.P.S If you still feeling like invading HCISO's territory, click HERE.

Oh yes, here are the long awaited section photos. Sorry it took so long! Basses! Your photo will be coming up soon. I'm still trying to get my memory card loaded in :S There're more though, of each section, those are the un-edited ones. I'll put them up when my time permits.

OKAY FORGET IT. BLOGGER CANT LOAD. NEXT TIME THEN.

Friday, November 24, 2006

Hi Stringers! Hope you have enjoyed the camp so far. I'll be posting up the pictures as soon as the camp ends as well as a photo log in YouTube (when my time permits). So, all the best for tomorrow's concert! (IT'S ALMOST FULL HOUSE) Play hard, play well!

Love,
Jana

P.S: HELLO ALL HCISO PEOPLE, WE KNOW YOU'RE LOOKING AT THIS.

Hello stringers :) About the Angel and Mortal thing, actually you all can reply your angel. But since you do not know who your angel is, just leave it in your own envelopes. Oh and the envelopes, we are putting up envelopes. Each of you get one. And your angel's supposed to put her letter to you in it. And angels, when you collect your letter from your mortal's envelope, make sure your angel doesn't see you do it or something!

This seems very confusing. Nevermind, I'll explain on Monday to all of you.

Yay hope this thing can go on and not stop! :) If can, we'll pick a new mortal again 1 or 2 months later.

Seee you all! Practise hard!

<3 Ziqian.
Ahh, I wanted to tell you all this today but didn't feel right. Anyway, I shall spill it all here.

I really hope all of you do practise hard - especially for next year's SYF. Reasons being: I may not be able to lead you all for SYF next year. It's not me, its my parents. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. Well, all this is still tentative, so well, wish me luck!

Competition will be extremely tough next year, with many new orchestras coming in. WE ONLY HAVE AROUND 4 PLUS MONTHS LEFT (minus December) for SYF preparations, and these 4 plus months will fly past really fast. Next year we red badges will hardly have time to drill and help you all for we will be extremely busy with O level preparations so IT IS UP TO YOU TO MAKE SURE WE GET RESULTS.

So, what's our goal for SYF? It's up to you to decide.

UPCOMING PERFORMANCE
17th November
PMB Investiture
1PM
Forum
Bach Double and Peter Hope Momentum

The acoustics there can be really nice but one wrong note and it can be heard. I may be calling a few of you up for checks - so be prepared. AND IT IS JUST A CHECK so please do not get all flustered up and please do not cry (eh hem, you know who you are).

And please bring $15 for the Camp Tee and fees the next practise.

Jana!

VIOLIN 1 BLOG: http://iloveviolinsmorethanviolas.blogspot.com

Hahaha it looks like carrots -wink wink.
Hello! Well, very few people know of this blog - so far. Anyway, please thank MISS CHERRY TAN for doing up the coding for this lovely lovely blog!

WHAT'S UP TOMORROW

CCA starts at 3PM, so that means you all come EARLIER than 3pm.

Violin 1s, please brush up on the last few bits of Shosta. Some of you are still sight-reading through the entire thing. Also, if you can't get the notes for Turina right, please ask me or Maryanne or just use a piano. If you do not have a piano at home, come earlier (before string practise) and make sure you get the notes right.

Violin 2s, for Bach Double Movement 1, please practise the fast quaver-y chunks as many of you are depending on Rachel for sound.

Sec 1s, I know it is difficult for all of you to handle so many pieces at one chunk, but please understand the tight schedule we are in!

Violas, Cellos and Basses, I have no right to comment on you all for I'm not familiar with your instruments, but Basses - PLEASE IMPROVE ON THE VOLUME OF SOUND! We can't afford to sound so "small" during the concert. The HCI side will not have many Basses performing for the concert. Cellos please take note of this too.
