Hello Stringers! Hope you enjoyed the faaaabulous BBQ that Mr. Chan planned for us :) THANK YOU MR. CHAN! You know, ironically, I flipped open the papers this morning and found an article promptly titled "Will the grill kill?" with the opening paragraph stating 'If you love your barbecues, read on. Medical experts have managed the scientific equivalent of pouring cold water on a pile of fiery briquettes: Grilling and other high-heat cooking methods accelerate ageing and several serious health conditions.' AH HORROR! Hahaha.

Anyway, wasn't Mr. Chan's chicken marinade de-de-delicious! <3>
Starting the fire! Debbie's the firestarter hahaha

ANNNNNNA CHAAAAANNN! Enough said, continue ogling. (Hello Mr. Chan we know you're seeing this but she's really far too cute)

Hello stringers! There's this MSN robot called "Magic 8 ball" :D I talked to it today and it's really funny. If you want to talk to it, its email is
magic8ball@botmetro.net!

Ziqian says:
will snso get gold with honours for 2009 syf?
Magic 8 Ball says:
Why, yes!

WHOA HAHA.

Ziqian says:
did snso get gold with honours for 2007 syf?
Magic 8 Ball says:
Dunno...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Anywaaaaaaaay, today during the election speeches, did everyone realise that all nominees talked about discipline? Actually, all nominees talk about discipline every year la right, hahaha. And some people from the audience, I can't remember who, mentioned about the fining system being not effective. Actually its effectiveness really has died off and maybe like the nominees said, we should reward instead of punish. I think that'll work out well :) But why do we even need punishments or rewards?

The root of the problem here is actually our own behaviours. I think we should all have self-control and be able to discipline ourselves. Like, we shouldn't be only coming on time for cca and putting up our shoes on the shoe rack just to not pay $1, or to please the dm. The dm is in a bad position here because there are always people who are not cooperating and complaining about the fine system. So actually we don't need the fine system if everyone does everything without being forced. Right? Right.

For now, I think the rewarding thing will be gooooot. But don't you all think how it'll be if one day, we don't need a dm to be pushing us to have good discipline, and we don't even need fines, and everybody just has good self-control? Someone will be jobless and the strings fund will be poorer, but our CCA will be much greeeeeeeater :) Yesssss we have lots of fun during string practices, obviously. But don't overdo it okay! :)

Okay I've finally said what I've wanted to say for a longggggg time hahahaha.

See you all tomorrow at the BBQ :) Be there!!!

Hello Stringers :)

Oh my! THE BIG DAY IS JUST A FEW HOURS AWAY. You know, somehow, I cannot feel anything more but absolute proudness in every single one of you :) We have gone such a long way, shed so many tears, sweat, RECESSES, countless days of eating just toast, juggling schoolwork/tests with string practices, tolerating with all the comm's nagging, putting up with all my whining and criticisms. I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU :)

You know what. We are going to go out there tomorrow and play our best. We are going to play so well. We are going to play the best we have ever played. We are going to prove all the other orchestras that have doubted us, WRONG.

We are NOT GOING TO BE SCARED. We are going to be CONFIDENT. And we are going to play with the best spirit ever.

We will make it :) I believe we can. We have worked so terribly, insanely hard. We know we can. We know we can play much better than we usually do. It's up to 20th April to decide.

I love all of you and I really want the best for this orchestra. Please play your best! WE WILL DO IT! Remember, "WITHOUT A DOUBT!"

Yours truly,
Jana

P.S PLEASE SLEEP EARLY.

THE #1 WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT!

Looking for a way to burn those stubborn fats without having to run 12348957235 km and swimming a few thousand laps and doing all those blasted exercises which seem to have no effect? Look no further! Simply take up a string instrument, namely: violin, viola, cello, double bass!

This is an extremely effective way - only if you do it right. If you don't lose weight, then: you're not doing it right. Simple enough? Just practise one of the above mentioned instrument for a minimum of one hour per day, and it'll definitely pull a few pounds off you!

Fantastic, isn't it? No need to go on a strict diet. No need to set aside time to jog each day. Simply take out the above mentioned instrument to practise!

The Pros:
1. You get to lose weight.
2. You get to improve on your instrument skills.
3. Your string orchestra's standard will go up [that is, IF you're in a string orchestra] [and that is IF everybody who is in it does this exercise dilligently]
4. No need to go on a strict diet consisting of fruits, veggies, and more fruits and veggies.
5. The best part? You get to do it at home, in an air-conditioned room. [Provided your room has air-conditioning.]

The Cons:
Darn, there are no cons!

So what are you waiting for?! TAKE OUT YOUR VIOLIN/VIOLA/CELLO/DOUBLE BASS AND START PRACTISING, RIGHT NOW!

Disclaimer: This will only help you lose weight if, I repeat, IF you do it the right way. Hence, please do not sue the author [ie. Mary-Anne] should you not lose the desired amount of weight. The author [ie. Mary-Anne] has carried out this method most successfully, thus, technically, it HAS been tried and proven.

WE WILL SEND POSTIVIVE BRAINWAVES!!

WHEN YOU STEP ON STAGE, LOOK AT THE JUDGES AND SEND THEM POSITIVE BRAINWAVES HAHAHA.

Go SNSO!

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Good afternoon SNSO,

I'm sad and angry and annoyed and disappointed and scared all at the same time. And it's not only me that's scared - but other people as well. Why? Because once again, so many of you are not taking string practices seriously again.

Ever since Mr. Chan said we would do well, so many of you just let go. There was a time where our morale was super high and suddenly everybody was practicing so hard and everybody was so happy and was enjoying themselves.

But now? Even some of the SLs aren't even coming down diligently for recess practices. Even some of the sec 4s aren't even taking it seriously. And some sec3s too. You know I wanted to depend on the seniors and the SLs to call upon people who don't come down for string recess practices and stuff, but how am I supposed to depend on all of you now? When all of you don't even take it seriously?

You say you don't feel like coming, you feel practices are getting more and more redundant and you have better things to do. You think I do? You think I don't feel sick and tired of playing the same pieces all the time? But I'm trying best. I come down for recess practices. I come for CCa practices. And so do many other people. And I thank all these people for that. Thank you.

It's only 9 days left to SYF. A mere NINE days. Do you all know how SHORT that is? At this rate we're going, we're becoming worse and worse by the day. It's not that I want to bring down all your spirits at this point of time. But unless these attitudes change, it's impossible to improve and get our desired results.

I want SNSO to do well, that's why so many of us are pushing all of you so hard. We ARE going to do it -- TOGETHER. I hope all of you wake up and be serious.

Oh yes, I want to commend the sec2s for coming down diligently for every practice. Thank you so so so much :)

Love,
Jana.
